Organization Outreach
Many organizations and groups, such as the ones listed above, have members that are computer literate and Internet savvy. Many organizations are not online, however, because they often see the Internet as something that is more suited to selling merchandise or advertising a service; and since they often do neither, they are not online. Yet, the Web is an excellent means to publicize your organization and to keep your members and others abreast of new information.
We offer seven service areas to organizations and groups:
-
Web site design, construction, and maintenance
-
Computer & software orientation and training (via third party involvement)
-
Counseling and assistance to obtain grants and loans
-
Grant writing and business plans
-
Consulting to expand existing computer related educational and information services
-
A full array of video services
-
Internet radio & television services
Job Readiness Training & Life Skills
Job readiness training essentially deals with gaining and maintaining employment. JRT can be included in existing programs or at institutions such as schools or organizations. A training cycle normally consists of four, three hour sessions for three weeks, and the program can be altered to accomodate various scheduling needs includingf after school hours. IIAFP provides the persons and/or the trainers to train the trainers.
Life skills includes personal skills necessary for people to more effectively address short term and long term household and economic issues. The differences and applicability of long term and short term planning, for exampple, are introduced and incorporated into one's lifestyle. Home maintenance, nutritition, checking and savings account development are a few of the other areas that are covered.
Child and family development workshops are also offered by IIAFP, and IIAFP will also provide training for persons to present the series. These workshops are invaluable for both males and females to learn the various ways to constructively interact with children through all stages of their development and how these can be incorporated into strengthening the family unit.
Awareness, Restructuring, and
Self-Development Workshops
These workshops are implemented when training workforce development populations and cover both job readiness training, life skills, and child and family development. These workshops cover a period of months and are part of an overall training and employment plan as dictated by the guidelines of the particular workforce development governing bodies.
